The History of RosterOn
Development of the RosterOn product started in 1994, the brainchild of a Melbourne software firm Seeley Solutions, the software being created initially for the Health sector and for Australian work conditions. Seeley chose to develop rostering software for Health because this sector had always been perceived to be the most difficult and demanding industry to roster within ….. this early decision turning out to be instrumental in enabling RosterOn to be so readily adapted for today’s wide variety of rostering complexities.
During the late nineties the RosterOn product continued to be enhanced and modified to meet market wish-lists, strengthening the product and building an enviable functionality base for future enhancements. As RosterOn was implemented into each new department of a Hospital, new functionality was added to cater for their unique healthcare requirements, and in 2002, led by the original software author Dean Seeley and IT industry stalwart Peter Collins, RosterOn embarked on a strategic development path to further develop the application to cater for other significant industries ….. and for emerging technologies.
The results were instant and significant.
A flexible rostering solution that had been developed carefully and systematically over a ten year period was now greatly enhanced by unique, new and comprehensive functionality ….. and ready for the business sector, who soon declared RosterOn to have 'the best functionality in the marketplace'.
The breadth of the software has been continually widened by both our clients’ requirements and from project teams implementing RosterOn, adding to the advantages for current and future organisations, managers and employees alike. Utilisation of the software quickly broadened from Health to Events Management, Aged Care to Councils, Emergency Services to Manufacturing, Retail to Mining and Resources ….. in fact to any industry where there are numbers of staff differently skilled, with varying job roles, pay rates, shift types, tasks, areas and availabilities.
Now all industries utilising RosterOn can reap the benefits previously only enjoyed by the pioneering Health sector.
